I take different images from diverse sources and place them on top of one another to create new worlds. I use an obsolete, antiquated art program to create a new reality, a multilayered reality, not unlike what we all experience every day. We live in a world bombarded by images coming at us from every angle with thoughts, hopes, feelings, observations, and interpretations. Add our relationships, responsibilities, appointments, and requirements to this, and you get a complex, layered experience. I call this a type of layered surrealism.
I am not illustrating a story in my head. I start with a type of innocent play and let my pieces direct me where they want to go. In each work, I find my story. I find my new reality, and I share it with you.
